American pianist Kris Bowers ranks among the greatest talents of his generation. At 22, he enjoyed a tour with Marcus Miller, where he first caught the world’s attention. Despite his young age he is a Grammy Award-winning, coming to the Czech Republic for the first time, and during his premiere concert in Prague at MeetFactory he is going to present his new EP. Bowers is the winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition in 2011, one of the most prestigious piano individual prices in the world. Artistic collaboration showed for example on albuma with Jay Z and Kanye West. Kris is also acknowledged as a composer of film music. Although his musical style is anchored in jazz, his music extends into other genres as R&B or electronics, it is significant to feel film atmosphere in his work. His latest album Heroes + Misfits, released by Universal Music, was successfully accepted by the critics.

Android Asteroid

The opening of the evening will belong to young talented band, Asteroid Android, one of the most interesting projects of the present domestic scene. Walking along the borders of downtempo, hip-hop and new-jazz their music is like a flight through a galaxy of one mind. Their sound reminds of a gigantic boletus landing softly at your backyard at full moon. Live acoustic instruments breathing together in a hypnotic post Hip-hop groove with minimalistic chords and laid back percussion creating a nu-electronic down tempo sound. Android Asteroid is a project of two Bohemian producers who assembled a band of eight and set up a journey to the World’s famous Abbey Road Studios and Red Bull studios in London for two unique live sessions hosting hip hop legends DJ Vadim and Yarah Bravo.
